Dracaena Fragrans Corroding Itself

Dracaena Fragrans
Martha from the Plowing Through Life (Martha) blog identified this plant for me.

It is very fragrant, almost too fragrant.  It started making holes in its own leaves by dripping a sticky liquid from its blossoms.

It seems a little strange to me.

  1. Gracious! I think I might break off the blossom stalks and dispose of them :)

    1. I almost did something dumb. I was going to touch the liquid to see if it would burn!

  3. Holy moly...I've never seen that before. But then, none of these plants have ever flowered for me. I'd cut the blossoms and get rid of them.

  5. Be careful handling the blossoms. It seems that rubber gloves might be wise.

  6. I expect all the goodness has gone into the flowers so hence the plant itself is fighting to be good.

  8. I'm not very good with houseplants.
I'm better with cut flowers in a vase.
